How You'll Improve
Stop training blind.
Most practice is guesswork. You put up a hundred shots, some go in, and nothing tells you which part of the motion to fix. The ball does.
Real-time feedback
Every shot is tracked automatically. Check your shot data in the app, or hear feedback through headphones while you train.
924
shots in one session
Every attempt logged on its own, with shot arc, release time and spin rate attached.
Spot it.Adjust it.Shoot again.
My son LOVES to put up shots with this ball! Great technology for stat tracking and real time feedback!
Coaching based on your shots
Shot arc, release time and spin rate are read on every attempt, whether the shot goes in or not. The app names the one that moved, then hands you the drill for it.
54%
of shots inside the arc range
Each metric comes back as a percentage in range, so you can see which part of the motion is holding and which is not.
One variable.Not the whole motion.
Great ball. It has helped my daughter get a better understanding of her release and rotation on the ball. It has also help her be more consistent.
Track your progress
Every session is saved. Shot arc, release time and spin rate sit next to each other week over week, so a correction from Tuesday can be checked against Sunday.
44,162
shots logged, all time
Session history, all-time totals and a per-metric trend, so improvement is a line rather than a feeling.
Tuesday's fix,checked on Sunday.
4.8
App Store rating from 40,000 players, and a place in TIME's Best Inventions list.
Compete against the leaderboard
Your session numbers put you on a board against other players, ranked on shots made, shooting percentage, swishes and activity.
40,000
players on the boards
A good night counts for something beyond your own history, and some people work a lot harder when there is someone just above them.
Progressgets a scoreboard.
Stay motivated
Improvement you can see is the reason a ball keeps getting picked up. Streaks and session counts do the reminding.
127 min
active in one session
Time active, intensity and a streak count, next to last month's arc against this month's.
You practicemore everyday
The TF DNA makes every shooting session measurable. My son actually wants to practice now because he sees improvement in the app.
The app
See what’s behind
every shot.
Track shot arc, release time, spin rate and distance, plus makes, misses, swishes and shooting percentage.
-
Measured as entry angle
Shot arc
How steep the ball comes in. A flat shot has to be perfect. A steeper one gives you margin.
-
Seconds
Release time
From catch to release. A quicker shot gives you more openings to take it.
-
Revolutions per second
Spin rate
Rotation off your fingers. The difference between a rim-out and a shooter's roll.
-
Feet from the rim
Distance
Every attempt is tagged with where you took it from, so makes and misses split by range instead of one number for everything.
How it works
How a session runs.
Open the app, spin to pair, and start shooting. From there, the ball tracks every attempt automatically while you train.
-
01
Spin to pair
Open the app and spin the ball on the floor. In seconds, the sensor wakes and pairs for the session.
-
02
Shoot
Just play. The ball knows a shot from a dribble and automatically tracks every attempt, makes, misses, swishes, shot arc, release time, spin rate and distance.
-
03
Read it back
Check your shot data in the app as you train, or review the full session when you're done. Your sessions are saved so you can track your shooting over time.
The comparison
Stop guessing your shot.
Shoot better now.
Regulation weight, regulation bounce, and a sensor molded into the bladder that logs shot arc, release time and spin rate on every attempt.

FAQ
Before you buy.
Do I have to pair the ball every time I play?
Yes. Open the app and spin the ball on the floor at the start of each session. It takes a few seconds, and after that the phone can go back in your bag.
Do I need a camera, tripod, or extra hardware?
The sensor is molded into the bladder, so the ball logs on its own from the first shot of the session.
Does the sensor change how the ball feels?
It is molded into the bladder during manufacture rather than added afterwards, and the Legacy TF1000 is an official game ball, which means it meets the same specification as any other.
What is the difference between the Legacy TF1000 and the TF DNA?
The cover. The Legacy TF1000 is an official game ball in microfiber synthetic leather, built for indoor hardwood. The TF DNA is composite and handles asphalt as well. Sensor and app are the same on both.
What does the app measure?
Shot arc, release time and spin rate on every attempt, plus attempts, makes, swishes and shot form across the session. Each one comes back as a percentage in range, so you can see which part of the motion is holding.
Does it work without me holding the phone?
It knows a shot from a dribble and logs each attempt on its own. Cues come through your headphones between shots, and the full breakdown lands when you stop.
What happens after the first year of membership?
The first year comes with the ball. After that, membership is what keeps tracking, history and the programs running. The ball still works as a ball without it.
What is in the box?
The ball and your first year of Spalding TF DNA membership. The app is a free download on iOS and Android.
How long do I have to send it back?
Thirty days from delivery, with free shipping both ways on both models.
Is it covered if something goes wrong?
A one-year warranty covers the ball and the sensor.
